Our Asphalt Driveway Services
- New asphalt driveway installation for new construction or converting gravel and dirt drives to blacktop.
- Full driveway replacement — removal of old asphalt or concrete, base correction, and new paving.
- Asphalt overlays — a new surface course over a structurally sound driveway, with milling at the garage and apron so you don't lose clearance.
- Driveway widening and extensions for extra parking.
- Apron and curb cut work where the driveway meets the street, including town permits where required.
- Drainage corrections — regrading, pitch adjustments, and channel or trench drains at garages.
How We Build an Asphalt Driveway
- Site visit and estimate. We measure, check pitch and drainage, and note tree roots, utilities and soft spots.
- Mark-out and permits. We call NJ 811 at least three business days before digging and pull any town permits for the apron or curb.
- Excavation. Old surface and unsuitable soil come out down to a firm subgrade.
- Stone base. We install and compact a dense-graded aggregate base, typically 4 to 6 inches for a standard residential driveway, more over weak soils.
- Hot-mix asphalt. We lay and roll the asphalt to a compacted thickness of typically 2 to 3 inches, with the pitch set to carry water away from the house.
- Edges and cleanup. Edges are tamped and finished, debris is hauled away, and you get care instructions.
